Game is "Hanging" and its not pleasant!

Been playing for a long time, recently when creating a word to send, the game is freezing forcing a restart to send a word. This is happening with greater frequency now. Zinga says delete and reinstall, but many of those I play with are experiencing same problem, so it appears its an update problem, not an individual problem.
I also agree with others about giving this game a little more love- how about a new look, balloons, nicer characters, adding your own image, and stats, like in Words with Friends.
